The Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute is an “IRCCS”: Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Healthcare high specialised in orthopaedics and traumatology. Its strong point is the close integration between the treatment activities and the scientific research activities carried out by 10 research laboratories. The Institute is also a University teaching centre. In addition to the historic headquarters in Bologna, The Rizzoli has a department located in Bagheria (Palermo) and manages orthopaedic and traumatology and/or physical medicine and rehabilitation ward in Argenta (Ferrara) and Bentivoglio (Bologna). Patients come from all over Italy and abroad. The Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute has more than 1,400 employees.
